SOCI 311 - Introductory Social Statistics I - Fall 2016

Univariate and bivariate statistics for survey data. Topics include cross tabular analysis, the normal distribution, confidence intervals for means, hypothesis testing, Chi-squared and F distributions and bivariate linear regression analysis. In labs students will use statistical software to analyze survey data.
This course may not be repeated for credit.

  • Credit towards degree requirements will be given for only one of Anthropology 307, Applied Psychology 301, 303, Engineering 319, Political Science 399, Psychology 312, Sociology 311, 315, Statistics 205, 211, 213, 217, 327, 333, 357; that one being a course appropriate to the degree program.

Prerequisite(s)

  • Sociology 201 or consent of the Department.
