Research Interests
Professions, Commitment, Worklilfe Balance, Stress, Well Being
My ongoing research is in the area of physician and health care provider well being. My current study on physician well being, funded by the Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research, involves using mixed methods to identify the positive and negative determinants of well being for physicians in the Calgary Health Region. I am also involved in a multi-stage project "Seeking Balance", funded by the Department of Medicine and the Calgary Health Region examining well being and proposing solutions for physicians in the Department of Medicine. I am the PI on an inter-disciplinary team that is examining the impact of innovations in health care on health care provider well being on the Ward of the 21st Century at Foothills Hospital. This project is funded by the Calgary Health Region and the University of Calgary.
