Research Overview

I am a political scientist by training and a scholar of political institutions by inclination.  Early in my academic career I worked on judicial institutions and legal mobilization.  The result was my book, Friends of the Court.  Since I returned to the academic world, I am now focused on cabinet and parliamentary government.  I am working on a major book on the practice of cabinet government in Canada.

I would like to supervise students interested in the House of Commons, the Senate, Cabinet or the Canadian courts.
