Canada in Sudan, Sudan in Canada: Immigration, Conflict, and Reconstruction, which is edited by Dr. Amal Madibbo, is the first Canadian book about Sudan that is based on field work.

The Department of Sociology is pleased to welcome six new MA students to our graduate program. We welcome (as pictured, from left to right) Gervin Apatinga, Valerie Salt, Tiffany Cundy, Wyatt Anton, Salome Boateng and Evan Brewis.

Dr. Liza McCoy is an outstanding graduate student supervisor who gives an incredible amount of time and energy to all of her students. Just in the last two years alone, Dr. McCoy supervised four doctoral students to completion.

Dr.Tom Langford was presented with a Graduate Students' Association Teaching Excellence Award at the GSA Awards Gala for his Sociology 611 class (Fall 2014), which is the required statistics course for the Sociology MA program.

 

The Sociology Graduate Students; Caucus (SGSC) annual Graduate Student Research Symposium is a student-led event that enables graduate and undergraduate honours students to present their proposed, in progress, or completed research in a supportive forum.

Congratulations to Law and Society and History student Claire Gjertsen, who has won a Program for Undergraduate Research Experience (PURE) award for summer 2015.
